Why Social Commerce is the future

Social Media is the place where things get discussed and everyone interacts on the same level and it is all about the communication and networking that really makes Social Media a great tool for all. Millions of people all over the world have instant access to Social Media and there are people using it every minute of every day, the exposure and potential that is has is truly staggering. Social Media sites are an absolute brilliant place for commerce to use as a platform for reaching millions of people every day and the model is there ready to be taken advantage of.

These businesses who have the ability to use Social Media as a marketing tool need to use it to really engage with the users and there really is no easier way. The fact is a huge chunk of the world’s population use Social Media which would make it pretty unbelievable if a retailer could not turn this kind of coverage and leverage into profit. The whole idea behind Social Media sites was to get everyone talking and everyone communicating and they were built for hoards of people to descend upon them and really use them to keep in touch. However, they were not built with businesses in mind but there is an admission that these social sites now need the big brands and businesses to engage with them in order to keep evolving, it’s how they make their money. The real problem they face is making the Social Media websites commerce-friendly, all of them now show adverts but something different has to be injected in order to make the whole collaboration a bit smoother and more business like without scaring users away. The adverts already used on Twitter or Facebook for example are not game changing and new methods will have to be implemented to turn the figures around. The important thing to remember that regardless of how big these Social Media sites have now become they were not originally designed to make money, they were merely put in place to encourage interaction and to help people stay in touch. What the whole industry needs is for someone else to come in and change the thinking of everyone involved. After all, the user base is potentially there so it is just a case of creating something that will make everyone look and think about using a different platform where Social Media and Commerce really do become one.

Once this has been created, and it offers a solution to the questions that have been asked, people will come in their droves. The solution has to be addressed and as long as the platform allows the integration of the Social use, the mobility and the commerce so that they can all become one the flood gates will open and the brands will then be able to reach and engage with users without being held back.

For this whole concept and its potential to really take off it has to offer something that will improve all aspects of Social Media and Commerce while still allowing people to engage, once all the boxes have been ticked the experience will be more rewarding than people realised.
